Choosing where to stay

Ibiza is small, and most beaches are within 40 minutes of each other by car, but each coast has its own feel. The south is for beach clubs, the west for sunsets, the east for calm family bays, and the north for quiet coves and nature. Here is how we would choose, with the villas closest to each area.

South: beach clubs and Salinas

The busiest and most social part of the island, close to the airport.

  • Ses Salines: a long sandy beach in a natural park, with beach bars and restaurants along it.
  • Es Cavallet: next to Salinas, wilder and more relaxed.
  • Cala Jondal: a pebble bay known for its beach clubs and long lunches, also a popular stop by boat.
  • Cala d'Hort: a small bay facing the rock of Es Vedrà, with fish restaurants on the sand.

West: sunsets

The west coast faces the sunset, and the evening light is the reason to stay here.

  • Cala Comte: clear shallow water and one of the best-known sunset spots on the island.
  • Cala Bassa: a sandy bay with pine trees behind it, easy with children.
  • Cala Tarida: a wide bay with several small beaches and restaurants.

Ibiza Town and Talamanca

Stay here to have restaurants, the marina and the old town of Dalt Vila a few minutes away.

  • Talamanca: a calm sandy bay a short walk or drive from Marina Botafoch.
  • Playa d'en Bossa: a long beach lined with hotels and beach clubs, busy in summer.

Villas nearby: Villa Wave, Villa Panorama, Villa Lumina, Villa Mirador, Villa Halo, Villa Castell

East: calm bays

The east coast around Santa Eulalia is quieter, with gentle bays that suit families.

  • Cala Llonga: a sandy bay with shallow water, good for children.
  • Aguas Blancas: a beach below cliffs, known for its laid-back atmosphere.
  • Cala Nova: a sandy beach with waves on windy days.

Villas nearby: Villa Summit

North: quiet coves and nature

Greener, quieter and more remote, for people who want to slow down.

  • Benirràs: a cove famous for its Sunday sunset drummers.
  • Cala Xarraca: a quiet bay with clear water for snorkelling.
  • Portinatx: several small sandy coves at the northern tip of the island.

Formentera by boat

Ses Illetes on Formentera, with its white sand and turquoise water, is a short boat ride from Ibiza and one of the best days of any trip. We arrange crewed boats from day boats to yachts, with pick-up from the marina or, where the villa allows, straight from the villa.
